Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on the 15th of June 1996 and professionally known as Aurora. Her name could be also stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise by music journalists and media. Half the World Away - by Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two notable covers that the singer has created. The singer gained further attention via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding an attic piano and being awed by the sounds it would produce. Parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as an occupation or pastime but as a way to develop. This led to her began to write songs of her own. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as a love for Bjork's style. She decided to start performing her songs publicly when her mother said they could help people not be famous with her music, but rather to help the people around them understand the importance of their work and how they impact the world. As a young girl she started playing the piano. At age nine, she was writing music. The family did not have any idea about it until she reached the age of 14. Aurora never dreamed of becoming a star. She claims that she just enjoys writing songs. For her, the songs she creates are how she feels about everything.
